Editing
Since you filmed a few different angles of the process - when editing you can have fun with it! Toggle back and forth between top view and side view and closeups! This keeps the video intriguing and keeps the audience hooked to see what’s coming next! Keep the process snappy when editing! Again we’re giving people a summary of the process - so edit out any unnecessary gluing, painting etc. Transitions are key to keep it moving and fun to watch!
Full length of Reels should never exceed 25 seconds. Each cut should be around 1 second long to keep the video moving.
Voiceover
Just like you did with the shot list – simplify your process in the voiceover. What is the bare minimum of what people need to know? How can you narrate this as more of a story and less of an in depth how-to. If people don’t understand something - they will ask in the comments!
When ordering your voiceover it’s great to start with a quick intro.
“Run to Dollar Tree…”
“Lets makeover, _____”
“Grab _____ from Walmart”
Then jump in to the process → glue ___ together, add paint, repeat this process, put it all together, etc. Keep the voiceover as snappy as the editing!
How to:
You can record your voiceover on your phone in voice memos. Or with a microphone - however you’re most comfortable.
Make sure to speak clearly and not too close to the microphone to eliminate feedback.
Overall, have fun with it and continue to experiment with new hooks, editing styles and ways of doing things!
